Jockey Club Caring Communities for Dementia Campaign

In this campaign, we have developed the guarding-tooth device, using the bluetooth and crowd-sourcing technology, to assist caregivers to search for the people with dementia when they get lost.

Regarding the fifth-wave of COVID-19 in Hong Kong, we tried to distribute the ibeacon by post to avoid public gathering and keep everyone in safe condition. At the same time, online videos and teaching materials were prepared to assist caregivers to finish the application process as well as getting know more about dementia at their own place. There are around 30 caregivers who benefited from our campaign.

For the upcoming distribution arrangement, please visit our website for more details (https://www.jccpa.org.hk/en/projects/ccd/).

Jockey Club Post-diagnostic Support in Dementia Care Programme

Post-diagnostic Support in Dementia Care Programme provides free educational talk for different NGOs and screening service for those aged 50 or above in order to promote early diagnosis and early intervention.

Our programme staff conducted group training sessions for the elderly in JCCPA and Health Village in North Point. The participants learnt about dementia knowledge as well as how to establish healthy lifestyles in the future.

The programme has completed successfully on 31st January. We sincerely thank for the support of Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and appreciate the participation of everyone who involved in our programme.

Celebrating the Year of the Tiger

Chinese New Year is one of the most important festival in Hong Kong.
Therefore, we have organized three parties for the elder members to celebrate and enjoy a carnival atmosphere here. With the aim to include some reality orientation elements, our frontline staff have made some traditional handicrafts with the elders and use them to decorate the centre. Besides, sensory stimulations were provided via tasting of traditional new year snacks such as turnip cake and sesame doughnuts. At last, our staff dressed up as the God of Wealth to deliver new year blessings and red packets to the elderly. What a wonderful day to celebrate the coming of the Year of Tiger!
