Prof. Kwok is the director of the Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing (JCCPA) since 2004. He established JCCPA into a comprehensive care center in dementia based on the person-centred care, which has played a leading role in dementia service, training and research in Hong Kong. In recent years, Prof. Kwok is dedicated to enhancing public awareness of dementia to develop Hong Kong into a dementia-friendly city.
Prof. Kwok has published over 200 research papers on the international journals through evidence-based research. Research topics currently underway include: the preventive strategies of dementia, bone fracture risk prediction, the frailty of older adults, restraints reduction and patient autonomy act, etc. Besides, the book “Ageing Gracefully”, which was dictated by Prof. Kwok, was published in 2019 and he has shared his experience and views on how to establish a dementia-friendly hospital and holistic strategies for active ageing.
Prof. Kwok is often invited to attend various meetings and events to raise public awareness on dementia and ageing issues. He also designs and provides trainings to local and overseas professionals.

Ms. Florence Ho has been serving in dementia-care sector for over 20 years. She is the General Manager of Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing. Florence leads the professional team to provide quality care services, as well as expands and develops diversified, innovative and pilot projects to support the people with dementia. The projects include “The Jockey Club Discharge Support and Rehabilitation Programme” which aims to help people with dementia to rehabilitate and adapt to home life after hospitalisation, “The Jockey Club Post-diagnostic Support in Dementia Care Programme” which aims to provide support for people with mild cognitive impairment, mild dementia, and their caregivers, “The Jockey Club Caring Community for Dementia Campaign” which aims to rally the general public and make use of technology to find people with dementia who have gotten lost, and the film “A Pair” to promote restraint free care services. Dementia affects not only the people living with it but also their entire family. Florence, therefore, actively develops various services to support caregivers and promote dementia-friendly community, aiming to holistically take care of the welfare of the people with dementia.
In order to cope with the increasing number of people with dementia due to the growing ageing population, Florence actively explores and promotes local staff training, and introduces professional training courses from UK and other countries to the local staff, hoping to improve the overall quality of dementia-care services in Hong Kong.
Florence also serves as the General Manager of Jockey Club Cadenza Hub which focuses on health management of the middle aged to the elderly. The Hub aims to enhance the public awareness towards health and encourage the public to build healthy living styles as early as possible so as to better prepare for the healthy ageing.

As a dementia care specialist, Dr. Kenny Chui is dedicated to the needs of people with dementia and their families for over 15 years. Apart from the extensive experience on direct dementia service, his expertise also covers the areas of academic research, curriculum design, consultative training, public education, project development and management and advocacy.
Dr. Chui is a distinguished trainer who designs and provides trainings to local and overseas organization such as the HKSAR Food and Health Bureau, Social Welfare Department, Hong Kong Immigration Department, The Hospital Authority, The Hong Kong Council of Social Service, CLP Power Hong Kong Limited, MTR, Bank of China, various NGOs, Consulates of the Philippines and Indonesia. He has also been invited to give guest lectures for different tertiary institutions. Dr. Chui made presentations in various international dementia conferences for promoting dementia friendly languages and the voice of people with dementia.
Dr. Chui is the co-director of the Advanced Diploma Programme in Dementia Care in the Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He also works with JCCPA to uplift Hong Kong’s dementia service. He developed and launched a three-year Best Practice in Dementia Care Programme between 2016 and 2019 in collaboration with the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) of the University of Stirling, UK. This programme is a large-scale project amongst the Chinese communities to build staff capacity for dementia care across aged care services through a systematic and extensive manner. Ms. Vivian Mak has served in multiple social welfare organizations, focusing on services for the elderly and family caregivers, and possesses extensive experience in individual cases and training. She has published the “Handbook for Implementing Elderly Psychological Education Programs,” (《長者心理教育課程執行手冊》) which encourages seniors to face aging positively from a holistic perspective. She has also written the book “Accompanying You Through Old Age,” (《陪你到老》) which encourages family caregivers to gain self-understanding through their caregiving journey.
Ms. Mak excels in taking a holistic approach, integrating various counseling techniques based on the Satir model to provide support and alleviate the stress between individuals with dementia and their families.

Dr. Maria Chui is a registered nurse in general nursing since 1979. She obtained her Doctoral degree in Health Science in 2011 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Dr. Chui was the General Manager (Nursing Service) of Shatin Hospital and Bradbury Hospice before retiring from her work at the Hospital Authority. Dr. Chui was chair of various committees in the New Territories East Cluster Hospitals on subjects related to quality and safety.
In 2007, Dr. Chui conducted an action research towards planned change in the use of physical restraint on older hospitalized adults. She spearheaded “Restraint-free care” in Shatin Hospital, and led her team being awarded the HA Outstanding Team in 2011 on “Fall and Restraint Reduction”. Dr. Chui has often been invited to attend various meetings and events to raise public and healthcare professions awareness about restraint reduction and fall prevention, in particularly, on elderly care.
Dr. Chui participated in the academic arena in supervising Master students of Health Service Management during 2009 -2019. Since 2010 till now, Dr. Chui is still supervising Master students of Clinical Gerontology and End-of Life Care of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Mr. Ben Chan is a registered physiotherapist in Hong Kong. He has worked in Geriatrics at Shatin Hospital for many years and then moved to work in the outpatient department of Prince of Wales Hospital and served as the Head of Spine Specialists. Mr. Chan has extensive clinical experience and is specialized in neck and back pain, sports trauma, chronic pain management and post-traumatic functional assessment.

Ms. Li joined JCCPA in 2016 to conduct music therapy with individual or in groups and related support services for members of JCCPA.
Ms. Li has been practicing in Hong Kong for nearly 20 years and has wide ranges of service users. She has extensive experience particularly in serving people with psychological trauma, cancer and dementia. In addition, she is the lecturer of the Master of Expressive Arts Therapy of Centre on Behavioral Health, The University of Hong Kong since the programme debuted. She then also becomes the supervisor of internship and graduation thesis for students. Over the years, Ms. Li has provided supervision and training for local music therapists and expression arts therapists.

Mr. Kingsley Pun had served various hospital departments and equipped with community healthcare experience. During his engagement, he found that all stakeholders could improve and develop a better healthcare journey based on their strength. Unnecessary and unwanted healthcare procedure could be avoided if there is effective communication between healthcare workers, people with dementia and caregivers. We could focus on creating joyful moments with optimum quality of life.

Ms. Lam has worked as case officer in elderly center and thus she is familiar with the difficulties and challenges faced by the people with dementia who are living in the community and their caregivers. Currently, she is dedicated to promoting dementia knowledge to people of all ages through public education in order to build a dementia-friendly community. Meanwhile, she encourages the general public to pay more attention to the lost person incidents so as to help the people with dementia return home safe as quick as possible.
She trusts that every person with dementia is an integral part of the community. Hong Kong needs to create a more friendly environment for people with dementia to participate, communicate and show their capabilities. She then also becomes the supervisor of internship and graduation thesis for students. Over the years, Ms. Li has provided supervision and training for local music therapists and expression arts therapists.

Mr. Kingsley Pun had served various hospital departments and equipped with community healthcare experience. During his engagement, he found that all stakeholders could improve and develop a better healthcare journey based on their strength. Unnecessary and unwanted healthcare procedure could be avoided if there is effective communication between healthcare workers, people with dementia and caregivers. We could focus on creating joyful moments with optimum quality of life.

Ms. Lam has worked as case officer in elderly center and thus she is familiar with the difficulties and challenges faced by the people with dementia who are living in the community and their caregivers. Currently, she is dedicated to promoting dementia knowledge to people of all ages through public education in order to build a dementia-friendly community. Meanwhile, she encourages the general public to pay more attention to the lost person incidents so as to help the people with dementia return home safe as quick as possible.
She trusts that every person with dementia is an integral part of the community. Hong Kong needs to create a more friendly environment for people with dementia to participate, communicate and show their capabilities. She believes each of us can listen earnestly to the unique voice of people with dementia.

Ms. Ingrid Chan has dedicated over a decade in elderly service in the community, focusing on individual counseling and also taking on management responsibilities within the counseling team.
Ms. Chan firmly believes that trust and collaboration can be fostered by accompanying service users on their journey. By respecting their values and needs, service users are more inclined to open up about their challenges and seek support from dedicated professionals.
Ms. Chan holds a deep and compassionate concern for individuals with younger onset dementia and their families. She comprehends the unique challenges and pressures faced by this group and is committed to providing professional advice, emotional support, life coaching, and practical recommendations for community resources. She encourages each family member to honour one another’s wishes, offer mutual support, and walk alongside one another. Assisting them in adopting new lifestyle patterns that suit their specific circumstances, she reminds them to remain flexible when necessary. Her ultimate goal is to empower people with younger onset and their families to create an abundance of joyful memories.
