Celebrating the Year of the Snake
Our center held an activity to celebrate the Lunar New Year early with our day center service users. The event included a variety of activities, such as group-oriented practical activities, where crafted festive “ goldfish decorations.” These activities enhanced hand-eye coordination and beautified their homes while wishing for abundance in the coming year.
Our frontline staff also took on the role of the God of Wealth and distributed goodie bags to each elderly. Everyone enjoyed delicious traditional New Year foods like turnip cake during the event.
Celebrating the Year of the Snake with a Reunion Poon Choi Feast
On 25 January, our center held the Poon Choi Feast for our service users. During the event, our service users and their families gathered to enjoy Poon Choi, experiencing the joy of the New Year and the warmth of reunion. In addition to the traditional Poon Choi, we also prepared soft meal Poon Choi for those who could not partake. A variety of desserts, such as Osmanthus cake and dumping were also available for everyone to indulge in. Throughout the event, Dr. Kenny Chui, our Deputy General Manager acted as the God of Wealth to take photos with all elderly and families as well as distribute goodie bags and red packets!
